Abstrait

Bone's Endocrine Role in Energy Metabolism Regulation

Bone primarily serves as a structural support for the entire body and is the primary regulator of calcium homeostasis and hematopoiesis. Bone has recently been identified as an endocrine organ in a growing number of studies, implying that bone-derived hormones govern local bone metabolism and metabolic activities. Furthermore, through affecting insulin sensitivity, eating behaviour, and adipocyte commitment, these factors can influence global energy homeostasis. These discoveries could lead to a novel pathogenic mechanism for metabolic disorders like osteoporosis, obesity, and diabetes mellitus, or they could be employed in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of metabolic diseases like osteoporosis, obesity, and diabetes mellitus.
